Obesity Medicine Program

Begin Your Personalized Weight Loss Journey at our York, Maine Clinic

We empathize with the frustration and insecurity that can accompany multiple attempts to achieve a healthier weight. Sometimes it feels like you’ve tried everything and nothing is working. At Examined Life, we provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where we truly comprehend the hurdles you encounter. Come join us at our clinic, where we celebrate every milestone of your transformation journey!

Reimagined from the traditional model, our program is tailored to accommodate your busy schedule. Recognizing that effective weight management hinges on the timing of meals, sleep, and more, we aim to alleviate rather than add to your stress!

  • Personalized support: You'll work directly with Dr. Brokus and her team of specialists for individualized guidance and care.

  • Holistic approach: The program addresses not just weight loss, but also factors like mindset, nutrition, exercise, supplements and medication management.

  • Community and accountability: You will have the option to connect with others on a similar journey for motivation and support.

  • Positive and empowering environment: Dr. Brokus emphasizes self-compassion and reframing your relationship with food for sustainable change.

  • Movement: We offer FREE yoga to you as a member of our obesity medicine program so long as you are enrolled.

  • Measurements: Objective data is often uncomfortable to obtain. We monitor your weight, BMI, abdominal circumference, and blood pressure. We understand that getting on a scale and measuring your waist can be triggering for some. It is, however, a great way to understand your progress. You may opt out of knowing these numbers if you choose.

  • Medication Management: While some people prefer a nonpharmacologic approach, we offer the option to take medications under the careful oversight of a doctor. We prescribe semaglutide, tirzepatide, and other Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Cost is $100 per week for compounded medication administered on site.

  • Education: We will guide you through lifestyle and medication options so that you can make an informed decision that best suits your individual needs.
